CSR: Adopt a School: Computer Laboratory

Muntinlupa City – In 2012, as part of our CSR program, SOMCO had participated in the government's DepEd “Adopt-A-School” program and had selected Muntinlupa Business High School (MBHS), Muntinlupa City as a recipient. At that time, SOMCO constructed a Computer Laboratory equipped with computers, printers and overhead projectors which fully benefited the students of MBHS.

After 5 years, to enhance/upgrade MBHS' computer laboratory, SOMCO again donated 10 units of used surplus desktop computers to Muntinlupa Business High School (MBHS) on February 23, 2017. These surplus PC units were already replaced in accordance with SOMCO's PC hardware upgrade program. But these units can still be used by students in their training program.

Donation of used PC units is in-line with SOMCO's Environmental initiative of REUSE, REDUCE and RECYCLE or to find alternative beneficial use of used surplus computer units initially intended for disposal. Also part of this environmental program is the donation of used rotto-milled materials which are being recycled for road improvements in-front of the MBHS to Sucat-Buli road.

Being one of the school's adopting entities that provides needed assistance and service in molding the youth's competencies, SOMCO commits to continually support MBHS when we can in its future endeavors.
